Research Assistant – Clinical Decision Support in Radiation Oncology (a)

Inselgruppe seeks a Research Assistant in Bern to build clinical decision support tools for radiation oncology. This 18-month full-time role focuses on data analysis, dashboard development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This position is embedded within Switzerland’s largest full-service medical care system, which includes several hospitals and a rehabilitation center. It offers an 18-month opportunity for early-career professionals to work in a dynamic research setting, bridging the gap between healthcare and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Create and improve an interactive dashboard designed to aid clinical decision-making.
  • Analyze real-world clinical and imaging data within a research framework.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, backend systems, or user interface components.
  • Support the publication process for the developed clinical tool.
  • Partner with clinicians and interdisciplinary teams to address medical challenges.
  • Convert complex datasets into actionable clinical insights.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, computer science, medicine, or a closely related discipline.
  • A strong passion for programming, data analysis, or software development.
  • Proven coding skills for data processing and analytics, particularly in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • A genuine interest in working at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in developing graphical user interfaces, such as with Apache Superset.
