Roche offers a 6-9 month internship in Analytical R&D in Basel, focusing on drug release investigations for amorphous solid dispersions within the RiSM program.
This internship sits within the Analytical Development & Quality Control department under Pharma Technical Development in Basel. The primary objective is to assist the team in investigating the drug release profiles of amorphous solid dispersions. Please note that this position is part of the Roche Internship program in Synthetic Molecules (RiSM) and is explicitly not intended for Bachelor, Master, or Diploma thesis work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews relevant to the assigned project.
- Undergo training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and analytical or manufacturing equipment.
- Create analytical methods to test the dissolution of spray-dried powders.
- Perform dissolution testing on oral solid dosage forms that include spray-dried powders.
- Hold regular meetings with supervisors to discuss progress and plan subsequent steps.
- Draft and submit a final project report.
- Complete the RiSM requirement by producing a five-slide PDF presentation covering formulation considerations for poorly water-soluble drugs.
Requirements
- Be a current university student or have graduated within 12 months before the start date.
- Demonstrate a reliable and accurate work style in a non-GMP setting.
- Show a team-oriented approach with strong decision-making capabilities.
- Work independently with a problem-solving mindset.
- Possess good proficiency in MS-Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a university certificate confirming the internship is mandatory for their studies and proof of enrollment for the entire duration.
Nice to have
- A degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology, or Chemistry is preferred.
- Fluency in both English and German.
