This internship supports the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department by assessing compaction simulator parameters to enhance scale-up reliability. The position is based within Pharma Technical Development in Basel, Switzerland, and provides an ideal opportunity for candidates to write a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma thesis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on tablet compaction simulation, defect mechanisms, and scale-up processes.
- Receive training and operate compaction simulation and tableting equipment.
- Perform systematic compression experiments using generic materials to assess material properties.
- Collect and analyze process parameters and defect data for late-stage portfolio projects.
- Prepare and submit a final report summarizing findings.
- Complete the RiSM task by answering questions on tablet compression conditions and presenting a slide deck.
Requirements
- Be a current university student or have graduated within 12 months before the start date.
- Study Process/Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Physics.
- Demonstrate good proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Python.
- Work reliably and accurately in a non-GMP environment.
- Show a hands-on approach to both lab work and data analytics.
- Exhibit self-sufficient, problem-solving-oriented work habits.
- Be team-oriented with strong decision-making skills.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in both English and German languages.
