A 9-12 month onsite internship in Basel with Roche Chemical Manufacturing and Trading Company AG, supporting the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department in spray drying assessments. This role is strictly for professional development and not for thesis writing.
This internship is a component of the Roche Internship program in Synthetic Molecules (RiSM). The position provides support to the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department, specifically focusing on the evaluation of spray drying conditions. It is designed as a professional learning experience and is explicitly not intended for the completion of a Bachelor, Master, or Diploma thesis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews to identify relevant information for the assigned project.
- Complete training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and utilize manufacturing and analytical equipment.
- Design, perform, and analyze laboratory experiments.
- Produce and characterize powders using spray drying techniques.
- Regularly update supervisors on project status and collaborate on future planning.
- Compile and submit a comprehensive final report detailing the work performed.
Requirements
- Current university enrollment or graduation within the last 12 months before the internship start date.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Competent skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work reliably and accurately within a non-GMP setting.
- A collaborative mindset with strong decision-making capabilities.
- Independence in work habits and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Ability to communicate in German.
