RiSM Internship for students in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology or Chemistry (Basel, 6-9 months)

Roche Chemical Manufacturing and Trading Company AG offers a 6-9 month internship in Basel for students in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Technology, or Chemistry to support tablet formulation development.

This internship is designed to assist the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department with the creation and analysis of dispersible tablet formulations at a laboratory scale. The team focuses on establishing efficient processes for drug substances with specific solid-state characteristics and patient-focused formulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews relevant to the assigned project.
• Undergo training on standard operating procedures and the use of manufacturing and analytical instruments.
• Design and execute formulation experiments to identify and refine optimal variants.
• Evaluate formulations based on manufacturability and disintegration capabilities.
• Regularly update supervisors on progress and determine subsequent project actions.
• Prepare a comprehensive final report detailing the work performed.
• Complete the RiSM assignment, which involves creating a presentation on formulation development.

Requirements

• Current university enrollment or graduation within the last 12 months before the internship start.
• Ability to work reliably and precisely in a non-GMP setting.
• Strong teamwork skills and a decisive approach to tasks.
• Capacity for independent work and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in MS-Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Non-EU/EFTA applicants must provide a university certificate confirming the internship is mandatory for their degree and proof of continuous enrollment throughout the period.

Nice to have

• Fluency in both English and German languages.
