A 6-9 month internship within Roche’s RiSM program in Basel, supporting the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development team with solubility-enhanced formulation workflows.
This internship is part of the Roche Internship program in Synthetic Molecules (RiSM). The position supports the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department and the preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control organization. The primary focus is on establishing workflows and processes for the development of solubility enhanced formulations.
Responsibilities
- Review relevant literature applicable to the project.
- Undergo training in relevant SOPs and manufacturing/analytical equipment.
- Develop analytical methods for the characterization of model compounds.
- Prepare and characterize prototype amorphous solid dispersions using various techniques.
- Discuss project progress with supervisors and plan next steps.
- Write a final report.
- Complete the RiSM task (a slide deck answering formulation questions based on a provided article).
Requirements
- Must be a university student or have graduated within 12 months prior to the start date.
- Preferred field of study: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology, or Pharmacy.
- Interest in drug delivery.
- Reliable and accurate working style in a non-GMP environment.
- Team-oriented and decision-making personality.
- Self-sufficient, problem solving-oriented work habits.
- Good knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in English.
- For Non-EU/EFTA citizens: Must provide a certificate from university stating internship is mandatory for studies and be enrolled for the entire duration.
