Security Software Engineer, Systemic Remediation, Cloud CISO

Google seeks a mid-level Security Software Engineer in Zürich to build automated systems for detecting and remediating cloud security vulnerabilities within the Cloud CISO team.

This position sits within the Cloud CISO team, where the primary objective is to scale systemic remediation efforts. The engineer will design, construct, and upkeep automated frameworks that identify, evaluate, and fix security flaws across Google's cloud infrastructure. By partnering with product groups, security researchers, and engineering leadership, the role ensures that cloud services stay resilient against emerging threats.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain software utilities that automate security remediation and vulnerability management processes.
• Architect scalable solutions capable of identifying security issues within cloud environments.
• Partner with diverse teams to embed security controls into standard development lifecycles.
• Investigate security incidents and participate in post-mortem reviews to stop similar events from happening again.
• Produce clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code using languages like Python, Go, or C++.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in software development alongside a solid grasp of security principles.
• Deep knowledge of major cloud computing platforms, including Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Capacity to thrive in a rapid, global work setting.
