Software Engineer, Security

Anza Xyz seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Security in Zürich (remote) to design and implement security measures for the Solana ecosystem, collaborating with core developers and external auditors to mitigate vulnerabilities in blockchain protocols.

Founded by seasoned executives and core engineers, the company builds robust protocols openly with multiple contributors. In this role, you will safeguard the Solana ecosystem by designing security controls, conducting research on Rust-based platforms, and partnering with internal teams and third-party auditors to identify and resolve vulnerabilities in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy defense-in-depth security controls to prevent and contain vulnerabilities.
• Perform advanced security research on Solana and other Rust-based smart contract platforms.
• Collaborate with core contributors to execute thorough internal security audits.
• Partner with top-tier third-party firms to manage external security audits.
• Communicate security risks and mitigation strategies clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain high standards of integrity, trust, and professionalism in all security-related activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over five years of software engineering experience focused on complex distributed systems, covering design, implementation, or testing.
• Knowledge of modern infrastructure tools and testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to articulate complex security concepts to diverse audiences through clear written and verbal communication.
• Prior experience conducting security audits.
• Hands-on experience using fuzzing tools within the Rust programming language.
• Commitment to rigorous testing standards.
• Capacity to explain complex technical, architectural, or organizational issues concisely and propose iterative solutions.
• Proficiency in English to succeed in a remote, asynchronous work setting.
• Skill in building consensus with peers and providing clear status updates.
• A proactive approach to communication, inclusion, and visibility.
• Self-driven and self-managing with strong organizational abilities.
• Comfort working effectively in a fully remote environment.
• A positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust-based smart contract platforms such as Solana, Cosmwasm, or NEAR, with a strong preference for prior Solana experience.
