Senior Software Engineer, Block Production

Anza seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Zürich to optimize block production and scheduling mechanisms for the Solana network, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.

Anza operates as a research and development laboratory dedicated to advancing blockchain performance and scalability. This position focuses on strengthening the Agave client and the wider Solana ecosystem. The successful candidate will manage the critical pipeline connecting networking layers to the runtime environment, ensuring robust and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and tune block production mechanisms to boost network throughput and stability.
• Develop and refine scheduling logic for both block creation and verification processes.
• Detect and resolve security vulnerabilities within the core pipeline.
• Enhance pipeline scalability to accommodate growing transaction volumes.
• Design and run comprehensive tests to ensure the reliability of block production, verification, and scheduling systems.
• Partner with core protocol engineers, security specialists, and infrastructure teams.
• Maintain detailed documentation for protocols and perform peer code reviews.
• Build high-performance shared-memory interfaces linking scheduling and execution stages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years of experience with core infrastructure software and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in systems programming languages such as Rust, C, or C++.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and blockchain technology is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Linux, systems automation tools, and systems architecture.
• Deep understanding of architecture, and principles underlying distributed systems.
• Active participation in Bitcoin/Ethereum/Blockchain projects or the open-source community is highly desirable.
