Software Engineer

ETH Zurich seeks a mid-level Software Engineer in Zürich for full-time, on-site work. The role focuses on end-to-end application development, including frontend and backend systems, using technologies like ReactJS, NodeJS, Swift, and Kotlin.

This position supports the creation of complete applications, integrating frontend and backend components to deliver functional web and mobile solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web and mobile applications using current development technologies
• Develop frontend interfaces using ReactJS and backend systems with NodeJS
• Create iOS apps using Swift and Android apps using Kotlin
• Build end-to-end applications with full-stack capabilities
• Work with RESTful APIs, cloud platforms, and database systems
• Handle deployment, testing, and ongoing maintenance of mobile applications on both iOS and Android

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong programming abilities and practical experience in modern software development
• Experience developing web frontends with ReactJS
• Experience with NodeJS for backend systems and API creation
• Experience developing iOS applications with Swift
• Experience developing Android applications with Kotlin
• Proven ability in full-stack development and end-to-end application creation
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, cloud services, and database technologies
• Experience deploying, testing, and maintaining mobile apps on iOS and Android
• Good communication skills in English

Nice to have

• Experience in UI/UX design, especially for mobile or interactive applications
• Exposure to integrating AI elements such as LLM-based services, real-time data, or sensor data
• Structured and practical approach to software engineering
• Ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams
• Interest in creating applications for healthcare, human-computer interaction, or AI-driven systems
