ABB Power Grids seeks a Semiconductor Shift Maintenance Engineer or Technician for its Lenzburg facility. The role focuses on maintaining diffusion equipment to ensure production reliability and safety.
This position is responsible for keeping semiconductor production tools available and reliable through targeted maintenance strategies. The engineer works across departments to improve safety, productivity, and workflow efficiency on the production line.
Responsibilities
- Maximize equipment uptime by performing proactive maintenance and troubleshooting on diffusion systems.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using 6S methodology to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with process, production, and maintenance teams to meet performance targets and optimize line output.
- Take part in projects that upgrade or modernize tools to boost their capabilities and long-term reliability.
- Keep precise records of maintenance tasks, equipment conditions, and system performance metrics.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues and support team problem-solving efforts.
- Mentor and train colleagues on diffusion technologies, safety protocols, and best maintenance practices.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring strict adherence to all regulations, procedures, and documentation standards.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience maintaining semiconductor production tools.
- Strong knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and pneumatics.
- Prior experience working with diffusion systems, such as ASM or centrotherm ovens.
- Familiarity with metrology tools for process control, including Surfscan or Semilab WT-2000.
- Completion of technical vocational training in fields like Automation or Electronics Technician.
- Availability to work shift schedules is mandatory.
- Professional proficiency in English.

- Additional training or expertise in vacuum systems or related technologies.
- Proficiency in German.
