ABB Power Grids seeks a Semiconductor Shift Maintenance Engineer in Lenzburg to maintain implant equipment, ensure tool uptime, and drive continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration.
This position is responsible for keeping semiconductor production tools available and reliable while continuously improving their performance. The engineer will focus on corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of implant equipment, working across teams to enhance safety, productivity, and workflow efficiency on the production line.
Responsibilities
- Maximize equipment uptime by performing proactive maintenance and troubleshooting on implant systems.
- Improve equipment performance through continuous improvement initiatives, applying 6S methodology for safety and efficiency.
- Partner with maintenance, process, and production teams to meet performance targets and streamline line operations.
- Take part in tool upgrade and modernization projects to boost capability and reliability.
- Keep precise records of maintenance tasks, equipment status, and system performance.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and resolve technical issues within the team.
- Train and guide colleagues on implant operations, safety protocols, and maintenance best practices.
- Foster a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to all regulations, procedures, and documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience maintaining semiconductor production tools.
- Strong knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and pneumatics.
- At least three years of hands-on experience with ion implanters (e.g., AMAT, Nissin, or Axcelis).
- Familiarity with metrology tools for process control, such as the Semilab WT-2000.
- Completed technical vocational training (e.g., Automation Technician, Electronics Technician, or equivalent).
- Willingness to work in shifts is mandatory.
- Proficiency in English.
