Senior Analytics Engineer 80-100%

Sunrise Communications AG seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer to design and maintain data products using dbt Cloud and SQL, bridging business needs with technical implementation in a hybrid role based in Glattpark.

This position operates at the crossroads of business consulting, data modeling, and software engineering. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for complex data modeling initiatives, guiding them from initial business problem identification through to the deployment and ongoing monitoring of data products.

Responsibilities

• Create robust, well-documented, and tested data solutions using dbt and SQL to address specific business challenges, working both independently and collaboratively.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to grasp the business context, definitions, constraints, and decisions that need to be supported by data.
• Architect modular dbt pipelines that transform raw source data into business-aligned datamarts.
• Utilize software development best practices, such as Git workflows, pull requests, CI/CD processes, code reviews, and controlled deployments.
• Establish comprehensive data quality tests to identify high-impact issues and generate actionable insights.
• Mentor and support team members through code reviews, design discussions, and the dissemination of effective analytics engineering practices.

Requirements

• A university degree in Business, Economics, Business Information Management, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong SQL proficiency and the ability to craft clear, modular data logic and maintainable transformation pipelines, backed by 3-5 years of analytics engineering experience using dbt Cloud.
• Extensive knowledge of dbt Cloud and the Analytics Development Lifecycle framework.
• Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
• A meticulous approach to documentation, testing, and data quality.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud and BigQuery.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• German language skills are considered a plus.
