Senior Audit Manager, Technology, Data & AI

Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG seeks a Senior Audit Manager to lead technology audits in data, AI, and cloud sectors within its Basel-based Internal Audit team.

This position focuses on evaluating technology risks and controls across digital domains such as artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and data management. The role also plays a key part in shaping annual risk assessments by identifying emerging threats in the technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate technology-related risks and existing controls to spot gaps, recurring themes, and areas for improvement.
• Lead or support multiple audit engagements annually, offering specialized technical knowledge to other audit teams when needed.
• Investigate the root causes of control deficiencies and propose practical, business-aligned actions to enhance risk management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to discuss audit findings, provide constructive challenge, and agree on clear next steps.
• Drive continuous improvement within the Internal Audit function by applying technical expertise, curiosity, and independent judgment.

Requirements

• Extensive technical background in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data systems.
• Ability to translate technical knowledge into risk, governance, controls, or assurance activities.
• Self-motivated professional capable of working independently, navigating ambiguity, and delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical capabilities to dissect complex issues and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, challenge constructively, and influence decisions through evidence-based dialogue.
• Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity.
• Professional certifications in cloud technologies, auditing, information security, cybersecurity, or technology risk management.
• Demonstrated expertise in cloud technologies, AI, data platforms, or cybersecurity, preferably backed by relevant industry certifications.
