The company seeks an Internal Auditor or Manager to lead audit assignments and support a future line management career. The role requires strong audit experience, operations knowledge, and SAP proficiency.
This position involves leading or supporting internal audit engagements within the Lonza Group. The function delivers independent, risk-based assurance and advisory services to the board and management, reporting directly to the Audit & Compliance Committee. The role is designed to help professionals build expertise for a future line management career.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and deliver internal audit assignments, including consulting and special projects.
- Act as an auditor or team lead, providing training and supervision to team members and external experts.
- Communicate audit findings, root causes, and risks through clear reports and stakeholder presentations.
- Collaborate with internal experts to enhance audit preparation and execution using data analytics and SAP configuration reviews.
- Engage with organization units and global process owners to discuss best practices, standardization, and process harmonization.
- Track the implementation of audit recommendations and report on open or overdue issues to senior management.
- Lead or contribute to initiatives that optimize the Internal Audit function and other internal projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance or accounting; degrees in chemistry or related fields are also considered.
- At least three years of internal audit experience, supplemented by hands-on experience in operations or project delivery.
- Strong expertise in executing assignments according to international auditing standards.
- Solid understanding of standard business processes such as S2P, OTC, and R2R, along with practical SAP knowledge.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical skills, risk-focused mindset, and ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the potential for career development within the Lonza Group after 3-4 years.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.

- Familiarity with ETL concepts, SQL, Python programming, or Power BI dashboards.
