Senior Compliance Officer Onboarding & Periodic Reviews

EFG International seeks a Senior Compliance Officer for its Onboarding & Periodic Reviews unit in Geneva, focusing on complex private banking clients.

This position sits within the Compliance team’s Onboarding & Periodic Reviews unit. The primary objective is to manage intricate client relationships within the private banking sector, ensuring rigorous adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.

Responsibilities

• Draft detailed compliance analyses and recommendations for new individual and corporate accounts, verifying KYC data and identifying risk mitigation strategies.
• Perform comprehensive reviews of existing client relationships, covering due diligence updates, risk classification, fund flow analysis, and tax compliance checks.
• Present risk assessments and compliance recommendations to the Client Acceptance Committee.
• Provide guidance to the front office regarding Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols, and the Swiss Banks' Code of Conduct (CDB 20).
• Evaluate client tax compliance status, including the processing and documentation of FATCA and CRS forms.
• Handle various inquiries from internal departments, third parties, and override requests.
• Assist with internal and external audit activities as needed.
• Report potentially suspicious activities to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
• Collaborate with the Sanctions Team, Legal department, and Account Documentation unit to ensure thorough client assessments.

Requirements

• Professional proficiency in English.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Solid background in Private Banking.
• Strong understanding of international markets.
