Scott Sports seeks a Senior Footwear Designer in Givisiez, CH, to lead innovative design for running and bike footwear, aligning with the brand’s philosophy and pushing industry standards through creative, performance-driven solutions.
This role is responsible for developing advanced footwear product solutions that reflect SCOTT’s design principles, driving innovation beyond current industry norms. The designer brings passion and curiosity to create relevant, resolved, and forward-thinking designs through collaborative teamwork and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Lead all design elements for running and bike footwear collections, from trend research and product development to final product, using compelling visual concepts and 2D/3D digital assets.
- Generate creative sketches and design renderings that enhance performance and push design boundaries.
- Coordinate resources to establish a unified and cohesive footwear design direction tailored to specific target groups.
- Gather insights through observation, product testing, research, and direct collaboration with athletes and end users to ensure real-world performance needs are met.
- Ensure footwear collections are aligned with apparel and sock lines for a consistent brand experience.
- Work closely with Footwear Product Managers, Developers, and Engineers to turn design concepts into tangible products.
- Develop a unified collection overview and dynamic color schemes for footwear lines.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and manufacturing methods, integrating them into future product development.
- Design innovative technology platforms that support and define product categories.
- Collaborate with other designers to develop improved design tools, including new technologies, construction methods, and features.
Requirements
- Understanding of current trends in sports and fashion culture.
- Degree in Product or Industrial Design, or equivalent experience, with at least 5–7 years of hands-on product design experience.
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to communicate ideas visually, with proven skills in drawing, sketching, ideation, color, proportions, visual presentation, and layout.
- Extensive experience with various materials and manufacturing techniques, including injection molding, composites, 3D printing, and textiles.
- Proven ability to work well in a team, take direction, work independently, and guide other team members.
- Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Adobe Suite and 3D modeling tools such as Blender or Rhino.
- Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
