Senior Outerwear Designer, Global Apparel (Timberland)

VF International seeks a Senior Outerwear Designer for its Timberbrand in Stabio, Switzerland. The role focuses on creating functional, stylish men's and women's outerwear while leading the design process from concept to production.

The Senior Outerwear Designer leads the creation of men's and women's outerwear collections for Timberland. This position is responsible for developing weather-ready, rugged products that balance style with performance, staying true to the brand's heritage while pushing creative boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire design lifecycle from initial concept through to the final product.
• Conduct market research to gain a deep understanding of consumer needs and preferences.
• Develop innovative and authentic design concepts that challenge industry norms.
• Utilize a mix of traditional techniques and modern digital tools to explore design possibilities.
• Work closely with Development, Merchandising, and Product Specialist teams to ensure alignment.
• Travel to vendor locations to review production and optimize product quality.
• Ensure every design decision reflects a clear purpose and intention.
• Guide and inspire team members to foster a creative and innovative environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of professional experience in outerwear design.
• Deep expertise in garment construction, material selection, and fit.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating bold conceptual thinking and high-quality execution.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Excellent ability to present design concepts and ideas clearly.

• Experience with AI and 3D design tools.
