Senior Java Developer

Arcondis AG seeks a Senior Java Developer to design secure, scalable backend services using Spring Boot and Kubernetes, supporting healthcare and life science clients.

This position focuses on engineering high-performance backend solutions that connect front-end applications with external systems. The developer will ensure code quality and reliability within an agile framework, applying strong problem-solving abilities to maintain robust web services.

Responsibilities

• Architect and sustain secure, scalable RESTful web services using Java.
• Specify and document service contracts via OpenAPI standards, utilizing tools like StopLight or Swagger.
• Implement backend logic with Java Spring Boot to guarantee performance and stability.
• Establish secure authentication and authorization protocols based on OAuth 2.0.
• Handle database interactions through a hybrid approach combining JPA and MyBatis.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit, Postman, and SoapUI.
• Deploy applications using Docker containers and manage them with Kubernetes.
• Support CI/CD pipeline design to facilitate continuous integration and delivery.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical outputs with business goals.
• Keep current with new technologies and best practices to enhance service quality.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in designing REST services and defining interfaces with OpenAPI tools.
• Proficient in database access using JPA and MyBatis.
• Proven experience building applications with Java Spring Boot.
• Strong practical knowledge of security mechanisms, specifically OAuth 2.0.
• Competence in writing unit and integration tests with JUnit, Postman, and SoapUI.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration via Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.
• Professional fluency in German (C1 level).
• Technical proficiency in English (B1 level).

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional Java SE, Spring Professional, or Kubernetes Administrator.
