Senior Solution Architect (a)

Adnovum Group AG seeks a Senior Solution Architect in Bern to lead technical projects and design complex Java-based systems for public sector clients.

The company is looking to expand its Bern-based team with a senior architect who will lead technical initiatives and collaborate across interdisciplinary groups on agile, high-level projects within the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration teams, holding final authority on technical decisions.
• Serve as the primary liaison for stakeholders, coordinating closely with project managers, clients, and other partners during planning and execution.
• Design system architectures and establish the overarching structure for intricate software solutions within the Java Enterprise environment.
• Establish functional and non-functional specifications while making key design choices.
• Verify that technical documentation and specifications are accurate and complete.
• Proactively detect, escalate, and resolve potential technical risks.
• Uphold rigorous quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to public procurement processes and bid preparation.

Requirements

• University degree in computer science (Bachelor's or Master's).
• Proven background as a Software or Solution Architect with solid software engineering experience.
• At least five years of hands-on experience building complex solutions using the Java Enterprise ecosystem.
• Demonstrated expertise with modern architectural patterns such as microservices and event-driven serverless designs.
• History of managing client interactions, including facilitating workshops, leading meetings, delivering presentations, and preparing proposals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities paired with a structured, analytical mindset.
• Fluency in both German and English.
• Ability to pass a Personal Security Screening (PSS) required for specific public sector assignments.

Nice to have

• Prior involvement in public tender processes.
• Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) systems.
• CPSA-F or TOGAF Foundation certification.
