Solution Architect

Adnovum seeks a Senior Solution Architect in Bern to lead technical projects in the public sector, combining hands-on coding with architectural design and stakeholder collaboration.

The Solution Architect role strengthens Adnovum’s Bern team by advancing software engineering through technical leadership and direct involvement in coding, while supporting public sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project teams, including developers and integrators, with decision-making authority.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders, coordinating closely with project managers, clients, and other parties during planning and execution.
• Design system architectures and define overall structures for complex software systems within the Java Enterprise environment.
• Specify functional and non-functional requirements and make key design choices.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation and specifications.
• Spot, assess, escalate, and reduce technical risks throughout projects.
• Maintain and enforce high-quality standards in all technical deliverables.
• Assist in preparing and contributing to public sector tenders and bidding processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science from an ETH, university of applied sciences, or university.
• Proven experience as a Software or Solution Architect with a solid software engineering foundation.
• Minimum of five years developing complex solutions in the Java Enterprise ecosystem.
• History of leading client engagements, including workshops, meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
• Fluency in both German and English.
• Willingness to undergo Personal Security Screening (PSS/PSP) for certain public sector assignments, as required by Swiss federal or cantonal authorities.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with public sector tenders.
• Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) systems.
• CPSA-F or TOGAF Foundation certification.
