Senior Specialist - Regenerative Agriculture

Nestlé Research in Lausanne seeks a Senior Specialist to lead regenerative agriculture research for coffee and cocoa, driving sustainable solutions through strategic project management and global collaboration.

Based at the Nestlé Research facility in Vers-chez-les-Blanc, this position provides strategic leadership for regenerative agriculture initiatives, specifically targeting coffee and cocoa value chains. The role focuses on transforming scientific concepts into practical, sustainable innovations that benefit people, pets, and the planet.

Responsibilities

• Establish scientific priorities that advance regenerative agriculture research while supporting broader sustainability and climate objectives.
• Manage a portfolio of research projects to convert scientific findings into actionable solutions for coffee and cocoa production.
• Foster partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to tackle complex challenges in agronomy, soil health, and crop management.
• Oversee the execution of research trials and budgets, ensuring strong governance, planning, and operational efficiency.
• Develop global capabilities by linking experts, resources, and knowledge across different regions and teams.
• Share clear scientific insights and recommendations to influence decision-making and accelerate positive impact.

Requirements

• A strong research background in agronomy, typically demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience focused on sustainable production systems for coffee and cocoa is preferred.
• Proven ability to translate scientific knowledge and technology into practical solutions for agricultural value chains.
• End-to-end project management skills for research initiatives.
• Fluent proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Working knowledge of French.
