Sonova seeks a Senior Sustainability Regulatory Manager in Stäfa to lead global environmental and product compliance strategies, ensuring adherence to regulations like REACH and RoHS.
The company is creating a centralized function to oversee environmental, material, and product-related regulations. This role provides strategic direction on key requirements such as REACH, RoHS, PFAS, Ecodesign, and Right to Repair, translating complex obligations into actionable company standards and driving their consistent implementation across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Create a systematic method for tracking global and regional environmental, material, and product regulations.
- Evaluate how new and changing rules affect products, technologies, markets, and lifecycle stages.
- Convert intricate legal and technical mandates into clear internal requirements, regulatory stances, and practical guidance.
- Design and refine the complete regulatory lifecycle process.
- Set up governance frameworks, decision-making forums, escalation routes, and clear responsibilities for product stewardship.
- Direct cross-functional gap analyses and remediation initiatives.
- Act as the primary authority for group-level product stewardship.
- Enhance data governance for products and materials while providing senior leadership with transparent performance metrics.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, materials science, engineering, law, regulatory studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in product stewardship, environmental compliance, sustainability, regulatory affairs, quality, or a similar area within a regulated, product-based industry.
- Deep understanding of regulations including REACH, RoHS, PFAS restrictions, Ecodesign, and Right to Repair.
- Senior-level experience in building capabilities, processes, and governance, with the ability to lead through influence in complex, global organizations.
- Fluent proficiency in English.

- A Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in sustainability or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of regulations across multiple regions.
