The company is looking for a senior chemist to drive the creation and assessment of advanced sorbent materials aimed at Direct Air Capture. This position requires taking charge of early-stage material development, linking synthesis choices to performance outcomes, and aligning research efforts with broader organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and create novel sorbent compounds for Direct Air Capture, prioritizing efficiency, longevity, affordability, and production scale.
- Organize experimental workflows, interpret characterization and adsorption results, and relate synthesis choices to structure-property connections.
- Evaluate internal and external sorbent ideas based on technical, commercial, regulatory, scalability, and intellectual property standards.
- Execute secure and thoroughly documented synthesis and testing procedures, manage material records systematically, and convert findings into actionable advice.
- Partner with specialists in characterization, engineering, scale-up, legal, patents, and external innovation networks.
Requirements
- Practical background in synthetic chemistry, preferably within material synthesis or functional material development.
- Minimum of five years in synthetic chemistry, material synthesis, or material development, encompassing applied R&D, startup, industrial, or technology development settings.
- Postgraduate qualification in organic, inorganic, synthetic, materials chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Extensive practical expertise in synthetic organic or inorganic chemistry, particularly with porous, functionalized, polymeric, or amine-based substances.
- Fluency in English.

- Doctoral degree in a pertinent area.
