Senior Trademark Paralegal Specialist

Lonza seeks a Senior Trademark Paralegal Specialist in Basel to manage its global IP portfolio, handling filings, brand protection, and stakeholder collaboration on a part-time basis.

This position supports Lonza’s global Intellectual Property team by safeguarding and expanding the company’s trademark and copyright assets. The specialist works closely with legal, brand, and business units across international markets to ensure effective IP management and brand integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administration of Lonza’s worldwide trademark and copyright holdings.
• Collaborate with the Head of Trademarks, brand teams, legal colleagues, and outside counsel.
• Handle the coordination of filings, renewals, and prosecution tasks for trademarks and copyrights.
• Manage IP-related budgets, process invoices, maintain systems, and generate reports.
• Complete trademark and copyright license agreements and assist with brand usage evaluations.
• Organize brand protection efforts, including domain management, UDRP proceedings, Amazon Brand Registry, and customs registrations.
• Lead ongoing improvements and proactive oversight of IP workflows.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing intellectual property portfolios on a significant scale.
• Deep knowledge of US and international trademark law, including the Madrid Protocol.
• Background in coordinating with external counsel on global IP issues.
• Capability to independently handle a large, worldwide trademark portfolio.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with IP management software, budgeting processes, and reporting tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
