G&F CHATELAIN, a subsidiary of CHANEL SARL, seeks an Intellectual Property Paralegal in Geneva to support global brand protection, enforcement, and trademark portfolio management.
Reporting to a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel, this position is based in Geneva and plays a key part in safeguarding the brand through both digital and physical enforcement efforts. The role contributes to a legal department dedicated to fostering a diverse, welcoming workplace while delivering top-tier support for global IP protection.
Responsibilities
- Assist with worldwide anti-counterfeiting initiatives and enforcement strategies.
- Coordinate with authorities and external partners to manage customs seizures.
- Monitor online platforms, social media, and websites to execute takedown procedures.
- Help investigate infringing activities and trace supply chains.
- Draft and track cease-and-desist communications.
- Provide support for opposition, cancellation, and infringement cases, including pre-action research and third-party monitoring.
- Utilize technology tools to analyze online infringement trends and generate reports.
- Oversee the filing, prosecution, maintenance, and recordal of trademarks, designs, and domain names.
- Manage correspondence and deadlines with local trademark offices and WIPO, including drafting responses to office actions.
- Conduct trademark clearance searches, analyze results, and provide risk assessments to attorneys.
- Maintain IP database records with accurate data entry and rigorous deadline tracking.
- Prepare documentation and evidence for enforcement and portfolio matters.
Requirements
- Law degree, with a specialization in Intellectual Property preferred.
- At least three years of experience in IP, specifically in brand protection.
- Knowledge of online enforcement tools, digital platforms, and IP databases such as WIPO, EUIPO, and national offices.
- Experience using legal or IP document and data management systems.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the capacity to understand broader strategic contexts.
- Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach.
- Strong team spirit and global mindset, with the ability to collaborate across regions and cultures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Fluency in English and French; additional languages are advantageous.
