Site Head IT OT Basel

Roche seeks a Site Head for IT OT in Basel to lead digital transformation and harmonize manufacturing technology solutions across its global network.

This position plays a central role in Roche’s global shift toward digitalized pharmaceutical manufacturing. The Site Head IT OT is responsible for delivering standardized, reliable IT and OT services that support the Pharma Technical Operations network. By aligning technology strategies with broader site and network goals, the role ensures that production commitments are met through continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to foster the development of future leaders.
• Collaborate closely with the Make Assess Release (MAR) process to ensure seamless integration of IT and OT services.
• Oversee the site’s IT and OT service portfolio to guarantee that all production strategies and commitments are fulfilled.
• Identify new business opportunities and co-develop technology-driven strategies that align with Manufacturing Site and Network themes.
• Drive continuous improvement in prioritized initiatives and operational processes, including the full lifecycle management of IT and OT systems.
• Act as a change agent, trainer, and mentor to support organizational growth and team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 15 years of professional experience in global and complex business environments.
• Minimum of 8 years in people management or product management roles.
• Strong expertise in IT, OT, or business domains within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical technology and processes, including manufacturing, digital plants, shop floor systems, quality lab systems, data historians, and automation systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD degree.
• Experience in Change Management, particularly in shaping long-term organizational visions.
• An entrepreneurial mindset focused on continuous improvement, end-to-end thinking, and problem-solving using lean and agile methods.
