ITOT Systems Support Engineer

The company is seeking a Mid-level ITOT Systems Support Engineer based in Basel, Switzerland, to provide first-level support for laboratory and production IT systems while collaborating with global partners and customers.

This position focuses on delivering first-level support for IT systems within laboratory and production environments. The engineer will work closely with local and global partner organizations and customers to ensure system reliability and operational continuity.

Responsibilities

• Handle the intake, processing, and resolution of IT incidents, service requests, and change management tasks.
• Monitor system performance, conduct fault analysis, troubleshoot issues, and manage problems to optimize operations.
• Install and administer applications utilizing a software distribution platform.
• Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Keep IT inventory records up to date.
• Provide training to staff on IT-related topics.
• Take part in IT projects and system expansion initiatives.
• Continuously refine and improve existing IT processes.
• Ensure all tasks are implemented and documented in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and external suppliers.
• Provide support during audits and inspections.
• Participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Successfully completed training or education in IT or Informatics.
• Solid foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems, network technologies, and virtualization techniques.
• Proven experience in managing systems, applications, and infrastructure, ideally within laboratory or production settings.
• Hands-on experience with backup and imaging solutions.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management practices.
• Fluent proficiency in both German and English, both written and spoken, is required.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Experience with CSV and GMP compliance.
