Software Engineer - Data Platforms & Analytics

Avaloq seeks a Mid-Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain data platforms for analytics. Based in Bioggio, this hybrid role focuses on ETL pipelines, Snowflake, and Kubernetes to support data-driven decisions.

This position sits within the Data Platforms & Analytics team, where the primary objective is to shape and expand the data infrastructure used for reporting and strategic insights. The engineer will work specifically with Avaloq’s data ecosystems, leveraging a mix of specialized technologies to create scalable, governed solutions that enable better decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ingest transactional, reference, and business data from the Avaloq Core Platform into the broader data architecture.
• Build, maintain, and manage data integration pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator, handling mappings, packages, and lifecycle scenarios.
• Support Snowflake workloads by managing data loading, writing transformation logic, and optimizing storage and compute resources.
• Deploy, oversee, and monitor data platform components within Kubernetes environments.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Solid background in data engineering or platform development, with practical knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns and integration architectures.
• Proficient in writing and maintaining PL/SQL code within enterprise settings.
• Hands-on experience managing large-scale databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Avaloq Core Platform and its underlying data structures.
• Holding an ACCP certification (Avaloq Certified Customization Professional – ABR/S).
• Prior experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator.
• Experience utilizing Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
• Knowledge of deploying and managing containerized applications via Kubernetes.
