Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Client Advisory

Avaloq1 seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support client advisory in Bioggio, CH. The role involves designing secure, scalable cloud solutions for enterprise clients, collaborating with sales and technical teams, and contributing to proposals and presentations. Hybrid work model, permanent position, mid-senior level.

This role supports commercial activities by designing innovative technology solutions for enterprise clients. It bridges technical expertise with business goals, working closely with Sales, Key Account Managers, Solution Consultants, and Solution Managers throughout the sales cycle to deliver high-value client propositions.

Responsibilities

• Work with Sales, KAMs, Solution Consultants, and Solution Managers to assess opportunities and shape technical sales strategies
• Evaluate client needs—both business and technical—and convert them into secure, compliant, and scalable cloud architectures
• Create comprehensive infrastructure designs covering compute, network, storage, security, and disaster recovery
• Help prepare RFPs, RFIs, and technical proposals, including effort estimates, sizing, and cost analysis
• Take part in technical workshops, collaborative sessions, and client-facing presentations
• Coordinate with delivery, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet internal standards and are feasible
• Assist in pricing decisions and TCO/ROI evaluations
• Share knowledge and help improve pre-sales processes and solution design practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure or solution architecture roles
• Strong understanding of at least one major cloud platform (OCI preferred, AWS or Azure accepted)
• Track record in designing highly available and resilient systems
• Solid grasp of networking, security, IAM, backup, and disaster recovery principles
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform being preferred
• Proven ability to collaborate across different teams and functions
• History of responding to RFPs/RFIs and creating technical documentation
• Experience in banking, financial services, or insurance (regulated sectors)
• Demonstrated skill in producing professional documentation such as proposals, designs, and technical reports
• Capability to create and present executive-level content (e.g., C-suite presentations)
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or DORA
• Hold cloud certifications (OCI, AWS, or Azure)
• Proficiency in German, French, or Italian
