Abbott seeks a Senior Cloud Architect in Basel to design scalable cloud infrastructure for AI and GenAI applications, ensuring robust performance and security across multiple platforms.
This position supports the EPD division’s shift toward data-driven decision-making by collaborating with Data Science and product delivery teams. The architect ensures that applications rely on scalable, robust technology stacks while focusing on the design and implementation of cloud architectures for AI and GenAI workloads across various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain cloud architectures for AI and GenAI applications on web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Utilize cloud-native services to maximize performance, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for latency, throughput, and costs using native monitoring and alerting tools.
- Implement load balancing, auto-scaling, and failover strategies to ensure high availability for all deployed applications.
- Document reference architectures and technical roadmaps, conducting design reviews with engineering and product teams.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks and automated workflows.
- Establish monitoring, security guardrails, and compliance checks to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure changes.
- Champion secure cloud designs that comply with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements in coordination with the security team.
- Set up observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery mechanisms for all AI and GenAI workloads.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in architecting and delivering cloud-native applications.
- At least 3 years of specialization in AI/ML or GenAI workloads.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
- Full stack experience.
