Senior ProServe Cloud Architect, Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS), AWSI Sales

Amazon Switzerland seeks a Senior ProServe Cloud Architect in Bern to lead cloud and AI solution design for healthcare and life sciences clients, bridging sales and delivery teams.

This position sits within the AWS Healthcare and Life Sciences Professional Services team, focusing on pharma and life sciences customers. The architect translates business goals into cloud and AI strategies, acting as a bridge between sales account executives and delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical and drive business value. Performance is evaluated based on the success of statement of work signings, implementation quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead technical solutions tailored to pharmaceutical business goals.
• Drive cloud modernization and AI transformation projects, creating scalable AWS architectures for clinical development issues.
• Offer technical expertise during both sales and implementation stages, specifically addressing pharmaceutical sector challenges.
• Work with clients on industry trends and new technologies, with a focus on agentic AI applications.
• Coordinate with account executives and delivery teams to guarantee effective solution deployment.
• Disseminate knowledge via coaching, demonstrations, reusable accelerators, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in cloud architecture, including designing and implementing cloud solutions.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Four or more years of hands-on technical experience in building data platforms, AI/ML, or Generative AI solutions.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects involving Data, AI/ML, application modernization, or GenAI.
• Ability to present technical solutions to executive stakeholders and translate complex architectures into clear business value propositions.

Nice to have

• Experience designing enterprise-scale clinical or commercial data platforms, including proficiency in multi-agent orchestration frameworks and cloud-native data lake or lakehouse architectures.
• AWS Professional level certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional, or AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services covering compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards like HIPAA and GDPR.
• Skills in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments.
• Strong communication abilities to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences during pre-sales activities.
