The company seeks a Senior Sourcing Engineer to lead supplier development and category strategy within its Greater China headquarters, driving procurement KPIs and cross-functional supply chain projects.
This position sits within the Bühler (China) Investment Co., Ltd., serving as the group headquarters for the Swiss Bühler Group in Greater China. The role focuses on managing supplier relationships and category strategies while supporting broader supply chain initiatives across the region.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate regional markets to identify and vet potential suppliers, assisting the Category Manager in shaping the supplier portfolio.
- Assist the Category Manager in formulating and executing sourcing and category strategies.
- Participate in supplier negotiations for framework agreements, considering commercial, logistical, pricing, and quality factors.
- Oversee procurement KPIs, including cost savings, supplier quality, on-time delivery, payment terms, lead times, consolidation efforts, and data accuracy.
- Contribute to M2M, NPI, and DTC projects by addressing supply chain requirements.
- Collaborate with quality and procurement teams to manage supplier performance, development, and claims.
- Maintain supplier master data and information in systems like SAP and Jaggaer Direct.
- Foster collaboration with multicultural interfaces and internal stakeholders to execute cross-functional projects.
- Ensure clear, transparent, and effective communication between strategic procurement and internal customers.
- Handle new part RFQs and ECN implementations, including cost benchmarking and breakdowns, while collaborating on sample development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Economics.
- Training in sourcing and supply chain management.
- Over 10 years of experience in the equipment manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years of industrial sourcing experience within multinational companies.
- Proficiency in advanced sourcing methods, including TCO, cost breakdown, negotiation skills, supplier selection, development, and relationship management.
- Solid understanding of machining-related manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with company operations, including logistics, finance, production, quality, and R&D.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for decision-making.
- Excellent presentation and representation skills.
- Personal commitment and a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to think cross-functionally, holistically, and logically.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
