Outsourcing Buyer

Bühlergroup seeks a Mid-level Outsourcing Buyer in Cary, CH to manage supplier relationships, ensure material availability, and drive procurement strategies for manufacturing operations.

The company is looking for a professional to oversee the procurement of materials and components, ensuring that engineering, design, and manufacturing teams receive the necessary resources on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role also involves representing the organization’s interests in global supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commodity categories and identify competitive supply sources.
• Create and execute procurement strategies aimed at achieving cost reduction goals.
• Negotiate terms with vendors regarding pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations with key suppliers to foster continuous improvement.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders while tracking shipments to guarantee timely and accurate delivery.
• Resolve any quantity or quality discrepancies by communicating directly with vendors.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address issues related to purchased items.
• Maintain inventory levels and generate monthly forecasts to secure long-lead-time materials.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with commercial, legal, and contractual obligations.
• Plan and prioritize multiple work assignments effectively.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting, specifically with machining or fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for assembly and fabrication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement or sourcing roles within a manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• A Bachelor's degree.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
