WinGD in Winterthur, CH, seeks a mid-level Operative Purchaser for a full-time onsite role. The position involves daily procurement tasks, supplier coordination, and support for local purchasing operations, requiring strong SAP and communication skills in German and English.
This role focuses on daily purchasing operations and supports the local procurement team by managing material and service acquisitions, monitoring order cycles, and collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to ensure delivery reliability and performance metrics are met.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day procurement of materials and services, including purchase-to-stock and purchase-to-order processes.
- Track purchase requisitions and ensure timely processing (PR-to-PO cycle).
- Monitor purchase orders, including confirmations and delivery schedules.
- Act as primary contact for suppliers regarding purchase orders and review invoices according to authority guidelines.
- Manage customer claims, non-conformities, and warranty cases related to suppliers.
- Assist in tracking supplier performance and delivery reliability metrics.
- Support the local procurement team with operational purchasing tasks.
- Work closely with suppliers, material planning, 4 PL, and strategic purchasing teams.
- Prepare RFQs, negotiate, and execute spot purchases within defined guidelines.
- Supervise and assist the apprentice in daily responsibilities.
Requirements
- Completed Swiss vocational training (EFZ), preferably with further education as a purchasing specialist or technical merchant, or a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with technical knowledge in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Several years of experience in operational purchasing, material planning, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of PR–PO–GR–IR processes and their applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional, multinational teams and external partners.
- Practical experience with SAP (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Highly committed, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
- Flexible and able to handle stress effectively.
