Purchase Order Specialist 80-100%

The company seeks a Purchase Order Specialist to manage end-to-end order execution within Supply Chain Operations, ensuring accurate processing and coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

This position focuses on supporting the complete order execution process within the Supply Chain Operations department. The role is responsible for ensuring that purchase orders are processed accurately and on time, while maintaining close coordination with both internal teams and external suppliers. By doing so, the specialist helps maintain smooth order flows and supports overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full conversion process from purchase requisition to purchase order, making sure all requests are handled within agreed service level agreements.
• Execute purchase orders quickly and accurately, prioritizing getting the process right the first time.
• Serve as the main operational contact for suppliers, handling communication, tracking order progress, and resolving any problems that arise.
• Keep a close watch on the order backlog to ensure deliveries happen on schedule, escalating issues when necessary.
• Find and implement ways to improve processes related to ordering, tracking, and handling issues.
• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to solve operational problems such as delivery delays or invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain high data quality, including master data, to support accurate order processing.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience in supply chain management or procurement.
• Possess at least two years of experience in operational procurement or purchase order management, specifically using SAP.
• Have practical experience with SAP purchase requisition to purchase order conversion and execution, with a focus on meeting service level agreements.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in managing suppliers operationally, including following up on orders, resolving issues, and communicating effectively.
• Show a proven ability to manage order backlogs and ensure timely deliveries, with a strong focus on On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance.
• Exhibit a strong execution mindset with a high level of attention to detail, aiming to get things right the first time.
• Be fluent in German, both written and spoken, and have good English language skills for written and spoken communication.
