Buyer

Dentsply Sirona Switzerland seeks a Buyer in Ballaigues to manage procurement of raw materials and components, ensuring supply continuity and inventory optimization within a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, this position is responsible for securing the timely delivery of raw materials, packaging, and factory supplies. The role focuses on balancing stock levels to support production schedules and customer service while minimizing obsolescence risks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze supply data to validate purchasing needs, generate forecasts, and process purchase orders.
• Procure raw materials, packaging, components, and general factory supplies on time.
• Confirm orders with suppliers and update the system with the most recent delivery dates.
• Manage expediting or postponing of orders and follow up on overdue materials.
• Define and adjust safety stock levels in the ERP system based on periodic and ad-hoc reviews.
• Maintain inventory levels within established targets and ensure adherence to supply lead times.
• Implement blanket orders to reduce the risk of obsolete stock.
• Set up and regularly review material planning parameters in the ERP system.
• Ensure all delivered purchase orders are invoiced and collaborate with Finance to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Build strong supplier relationships and conduct regular business and KPI reviews.
• Collaborate closely with the Procurement department on supplier management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in purchasing or supply planning.
• Solid understanding of purchasing processes.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics 365 or SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and comfort working with large datasets.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in data-driven tasks.
• Fluent command of English and French (minimum B2 level).
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Highly organized, rigorous, reliable, methodical, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams internationally.

Nice to have

• APICS certification.
• Certification in Purchasing (e.g., Brevet fédéral spécialiste Achat & Approvisionnement).
• Prior experience in the medical industry.
• Knowledge of Power Query.
