Buyer

Escatec Switzerland AG seeks a Buyer to support its Supply Chain team with purchasing activities, ensuring accurate order management and supplier coordination for production needs.

This position is designed to assist the Supply Chain department by handling core purchasing tasks. The role focuses on maintaining the flow of materials through effective order management and supplier liaison.

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee purchase orders based on production schedules and customer needs.
• Verify order details before release to guarantee alignment with specifications.
• Keep purchase order records updated with correct delivery dates and quantities.
• Engage with suppliers daily to confirm orders, monitor progress, and address questions.
• Actively follow up on deliveries to prevent production delays.
• Track material availability and respond quickly to shortages or demand shifts.
• Adjust, reschedule, or cancel orders as business requirements change.
• Ensure data integrity within the ERP/MRP system for accurate planning and reporting.
• Assist in managing inventory levels to reduce excess or slow-moving stock.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Production, Planning, Quality, and Finance to solve supply issues.
• Develop and sustain positive relationships with suppliers to enhance delivery performance.
• Provide reports on supplier performance and order fulfillment metrics.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience in purchasing, buying, or supply chain roles.
• Proven ability to raise and manage purchase orders using an ERP or MRP system.
• Comfortable communicating regularly with suppliers via email and phone.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• High attention to detail when processing data and orders.
• A proactive mindset for problem-solving in dynamic environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
