Strategic Sourcing Manager - Raw Material & Surface Treatment

VAT Vakuumventile AG seeks a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager for Raw Material & Surface Treatment in Haag, CH, to lead global sourcing strategies and supplier relationships.

The company is looking for a strategic sourcing professional to manage direct material categories, specifically raw materials and surface treatment. This role involves acting as a business partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring supply capability at optimal cost, and protecting brand value through effective category management.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned material categories, including capacity planning and knowledge management.
• Contribute to global Direct Material and Supply Base Performance metrics regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
• Represent direct material categories within the VAT organization.
• Achieve objectives related to cost optimization, supply base improvement, geographic sourcing, and Best Cost Country sourcing.
• Provide insights on market trends, threats, and opportunities for assigned categories.
• Align the Direct Materials Category Team with company objectives.
• Collaborate with Business Units and Engineering on sourcing activities within the PDP (IP07) process.
• Act as a change agent for key stakeholders.
• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies using defined methods and tools.
• Manage supplier relationships globally in alignment with teams in Switzerland, Malaysia, and Romania.
• Ensure consistent application of all Sourcing Levers.
• Contribute to main Sourcing KPIs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of strategic and operational sourcing experience with global category management knowledge.
• Experience with category-specific production techniques and processes.
• Knowledge of category sourcing markets.
• Experience sourcing in Eastern Europe and Asia, including Best Cost Country and spend relocation.
• Experience in a global, complex organization.
• Background in machine building, vacuum technology, or semiconductors.
• Cross-functional or category team management experience.
• Good communication skills in German and English.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in languages other than German and English.
