System Engineer

SIX Financial Information seeks a System Engineer for its Cryptographic Services team in Zürich. The role focuses on designing and operating secure cryptographic platforms within a regulated financial environment.

This position supports the Cryptographic Services team in building and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure that protects the company's core systems. The engineer collaborates with application, infrastructure, and security groups to ensure robust cryptographic operations in a highly regulated financial setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level cryptographic services, including PKI, HSM, and certificate management.
• Automate certificate lifecycles and embed cryptographic functions into applications and CI/CD workflows.
• Maintain visibility and inventory of cryptographic assets across the organization.
• Address vulnerabilities and resolve incidents related to cryptographic components.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory mandates such as PCI DSS, FINMA, and DORA.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of PKI, TLS, HSM, or key management systems.
• Hands-on experience with automation, APIs, or infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and modern application environments like containers.
• Skill in converting security requirements into actionable engineering solutions.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
