The company seeks a Mid-level T24 Application Support / Operation Engineer in Zürich for full-time work. The role focuses on core banking application management, incident resolution, and system optimization.
This position sits at the intersection of system engineering, platform management, and operational oversight. The engineer will design and maintain complex technology platforms, potentially focusing on database, server, virtualization, or network specializations while ensuring holistic system performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage core banking applications as a second-tier support resource.
- Resolve incident tickets from monitoring tools and the service desk within agreed timeframes.
- Coordinate communication between incident managers, application owners, third-level support, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule covering 24/7 operations.
- Handle change request administration and ensure application processes are fulfilled.
- Join weekend release activities for periodic system updates.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational improvements for current or new applications.
- Perform routine data cleansing tasks to maintain system integrity.
- Optimize and automate repetitive processes, including handing over tasks to Level 1 teams.
- Maintain and update application operation documentation and knowledge bases.
Requirements
- Hold a completed IT education, such as a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Demonstrate proven experience managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting daily T24 operations, including end-of-day processing.
- Possess at least five years of professional experience supporting T24 systems.
- Show good knowledge of Linux, with shell scripting skills being beneficial.
- Hold ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Have banking industry experience with a strong understanding of financial products.
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with operational tools like JBoss, Oracle database, TAFJ, DSF, Octopus, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- Familiarity with the TPH module.
- Knowledge of Java application servers and the AWA scheduler.
- German language skills.
