The company seeks an IT Application Support Specialist for 2nd-level support in Zürich. The role ensures core banking system operations, drives automation, and collaborates across IT and business teams.
This position focuses on the operational management of essential banking applications. The specialist ensures system stability, implements automation initiatives, and facilitates communication between technical teams and business units within a financial setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage core banking applications as the primary point for second-level support.
- Handle incident tickets from monitoring tools and the service desk while meeting service level agreements.
- Liaise with incident managers, application owners, third-level support, Agile teams, and business stakeholders.
- Serve as the local administrative manager.
- Participate in a weekly 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Manage change requests and oversee application-related procedures.
- Join release activities, including weekend deployments.
- Support projects involving operational aspects of current or new applications.
- Conduct routine data cleansing and system maintenance.
- Optimize processes and automate repetitive tasks, including handing over to Level 1.
- Update application operation documentation and the knowledge base.
- Support batch job scheduling and monitoring.
Requirements
- IT degree or equivalent certification.
- At least two years of experience in application support.
- Proficient in Linux.
- Solid server-level Windows OS knowledge.
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience with batch job support and scheduling tools.
- Ability to manage small teams or project management skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Shell scripting knowledge.
- Experience with Automic AWA.
- Background in banking or financial services with knowledge of financial products.
