Teamleader Design Engineering - Generator Circuit Breaker 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

ABB Power Grids seeks a Teamleader Design Engineering for Generator Circuit Breaker systems in Zürich. The role involves leading a CAD design team, managing engineering data, and driving process improvements while ensuring compliance and quality.

The company is looking for a leader to guide a team of CAD designers in developing and maintaining engineering data for generator circuit-breaker systems. This position plays a key role in supporting the entire product lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, project leads, and factory teams to enhance product reliability and performance globally.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor a group of CAD designers to ensure the accurate creation, updating, and upkeep of engineering data for generator circuit-breaker components and systems.
• Manage and expand the master data for all GCB products, including 3D models, technical drawings, and bills of materials within CAD and PLM platforms.
• Execute specialized design tasks, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and drive enhancements in product quality.
• Identify and implement improvements to design workflows and processes.
• Foster effective cooperation with engineering departments, project managers, and other key stakeholders.
• Support the supervision and training of apprentices alongside dedicated advisors.
• As a people manager, guarantee adherence to all relevant internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

• A strong technical background as a senior designer or equivalent engineering experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software, particularly Creo.
• Extensive knowledge of PLM systems, especially PTC Windchill, including roles, object management, and release procedures.
• Prior experience in a leadership role or as a project manager for a team.
• Excellent self-organization abilities and a precise, independent work style.
• Capability to structure tasks, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple design projects simultaneously with high quality and reliability.
• A mindset focused on process improvement, document quality, and establishing structured working methods.
• Fluency in both German and English.
