Technical Architect

Snowflake Computing Switzerland GmbH is seeking a Senior Technical Architect (Remote, CH) to guide customers through their data journey, providing expert advisory services and technical leadership for enterprise data platform implementations.

This post-sales position sits within the Service Delivery team and focuses on providing expert advisory services to clients. The architect supports customers in building enterprise solutions, guiding them from initial setup through to the deployment of use cases.

Responsibilities

• Engage with multiple Snowflake clients to support their initiatives.
• Lead technical streams for client data platform implementations and onboarding efforts.
• Collaborate with internal Customer Engagement and Delivery resources to ensure proper technical guidance, project management, and functional support.
• Work closely with Snowflake's Engineering, Support, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Assist clients in troubleshooting implementations and integrating the product into their existing ecosystem.
• Identify, document, triage, and track issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to the growth and scalability of Customer Delivery and Training teams through documentation, process optimization, and cross-training.
• Apply industry and technology expertise to client implementations.
• Gather product feedback and recommendations from customers to inform new features and capabilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in building high-quality cloud data platforms and strong consulting skills.
• At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Experience with distributed systems and massively parallel processing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Teradata, Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Oracle, SQL Server) and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of data strategies and methodologies (e.g., Data Mesh, Data Vault, Data Fabric, Data Governance, Data Management, Enterprise Architecture).
• Familiarity with data organization and modeling concepts (e.g., Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Medallion architecture, Kimball dimensional modeling, 3NF database normalization).
• Understanding of infrastructure concepts (e.g., Cloud Hyperscalers like AWS and Azure, IaaS, PaaS, Networking, Security, Encryption, Identity and Access Management, Disaster Recovery Planning).
• Experience with data engineering concepts and frameworks (e.g., batch processing, stream processing, replication, SQL, DBT, Talend, Informatica, Python, Snowpark, PySpark, DataFrames, storage formats like Parquet, Avro, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Orchestration, DevOps).
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and analytics solutions (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Thoughtspot, SAS, Streamlit) and techniques (e.g., time series analysis, Advanced SQL, statistical analysis, linear regression, variance analysis, modeling, forecasting).
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamental concepts (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, Natural Language Processing, Language Models).
• Strong ability to lead engagements with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels.
