ABB seeks a Technical Support Engineer in Quartino, CH, for a hybrid, full-time role (80-100%). The position involves providing technical support for UPS and PCS products, conducting system analysis, and delivering training, with occasional travel required.
This role supports internal and external customers by delivering timely, cost-effective technical assistance in line with company guidelines. It aims to enhance customer satisfaction through high-quality service and contributes to customer retention by ensuring a positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver hardware support for ABB UPS and PCS products through ticketing, phone, or email, including assisting partners and subsidiaries via the 24/7 Diagnostic Centre rotation.
- Conduct in-depth system analysis for ABB UPS and PCS products and share documented results with relevant stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally to assist with complex installations, such as large data centers, audit service operations, and help build local team capabilities.
- Provide technical training on UPS and PCS products for customers and service engineers as needed.
- Collaborate with departments like Quality and R&D to resolve product issues and support ongoing product improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Several years of practical experience in commissioning, after-sales technical support, and advanced diagnostics for UPS, PCS, or energy storage systems.
- Strong verbal and written English skills (B2 level or higher).
- Ability to produce clear, concise technical documents, reports, and field support procedures.
- Proficient in using the MS Office suite.
- Willingness to interact directly with global clients and teams, including up to 15% travel.
Nice to have
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting mission-critical systems such as data centers, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of any additional language.
