Mettler Toledo seeks a Test & Measurement Engineer in Nänikon to lead product measurement performance, testing automation, and cross-functional innovation within its global R&D team.

This position sits within the Research and Development department at the company’s global headquarters in Greifensee. The role focuses on the Laboratory Weighing business area, which holds the leading market position in laboratory weighing solutions worldwide. The engineer will ensure the highest standards of measurement accuracy and drive continuous improvement across product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Assuming full technical responsibility for the measurement performance of all Laboratory Weighing products.
  • Evaluating, refining, and expanding product specifications and design criteria.
  • Conducting measurements, performing data analysis, and optimizing weighing accuracy and performance.
  • Enhancing and maintaining the measurement infrastructure, with a focus on automating test processes.
  • Participating in and leading cross-functional feasibility studies and innovation initiatives.
  • Creating, running, and automating tests to verify compliance with product and regulatory standards.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for measurement-related inquiries from field teams, clients, and internal manufacturing.
  • Investigating quality defects, identifying corrective actions, and supporting product evolution.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with universities and external research organizations.

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher).
  • Strong understanding of physical measurement and control technology, along with product verification methods.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python or C++, and experience with analysis and simulation tools like MATLAB, Maple, or Mathematica.
  • Fluency in both German and English; German is required, and English is used as the primary project language.

Nice to have

  • Experience ranging from entry-level to several years in the development environment of an industrial high-tech company.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Method/Analysis (FEM/FEA).
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit simulation software.
  • Prior exposure to ALM and ERP systems.
