Treasury Operations Specialist

Bank J Safra Sarasin seeks a Treasury Operations Specialist in Basel to manage collateral, derivatives, and reconciliation processes within an agile, cross-divisional team.

This position serves as a vital component of a small, agile team responsible for dynamic treasury operations. The specialist will safeguard cash balances by monitoring and reconciling active positions across international markets, while collaborating closely with domestic and international colleagues to support the main trading desk.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to the primary trading desk regarding all treasury-related activities.
• Handle the complete lifecycle of Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), Cross-Currency Swaps (CCS), and Credit Default Swaps (CDS).
• Execute and oversee end-to-end collateral operations, including booking entries, payment processing, and reporting.
• Conduct OTC derivatives risk reconciliation and deliver timely reports on regulatory controls and key business indicators to internal stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation discrepancies until they are fully cleared.
• Collaborate cooperatively with internal operations teams and business divisions across Switzerland and global markets to achieve shared goals.
• Assist the Department Head with key project management and urgent ad-hoc assignments.

Requirements

• Professional education in business or economics, or a completed apprenticeship within a financial services firm.
• Between 3 and 5 years of experience in treasury functions.
• Fluency in both English and German.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high motivation, and flexibility to thrive in a challenging, dynamic environment.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage personal workload effectively.
• Willingness to work occasional shifts on Swiss bank holidays, rotating with team colleagues.
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the team culture.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Trioptima, Markitwire, and Avaloq is advantageous but not mandatory.
