Baer AG seeks an Operations Specialist in Zürich to manage end-to-end post-trade processing for OTC derivatives, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and stakeholder support.
The Operations Specialist at Baer AG handles the complete post-trade lifecycle for Over-The-Counter derivatives. This role ensures precise and compliant processing while safeguarding data integrity and supporting front-office, risk, and compliance teams. The position also contributes to system improvements and strategic projects to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full post-trade workflow for OTC derivatives, including interest rate swaps, total return swaps, inflation swaps, credit default swaps, and equity or bond options.
- Oversee lifecycle events such as coupon payments, corporate actions, and option exercises or assignments.
- Perform daily reconciliations of positions and cash to maintain ledger accuracy.
- Match trade confirmations with counterparties to align front and back office records.
- Monitor and process price feeds and fixings for interest rate and inflation-linked instruments.
- Track payment schedules and execute payments as required.
- Address operational inquiries and ad-hoc requests from trading desks, relationship managers, and other operations teams.
- Support testing, rollout, and implementation of new products, system updates, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in OTC derivative products.
- Solid risk management capabilities, including monitoring risk positions and applying mitigation strategies.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory frameworks like FinfraG and EMIR.
- Strong interest in process analysis and continuous improvement.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Banking apprenticeship or equivalent finance industry education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluency in German and English at C1 level.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD).
- Experience with derivative-specific tools.
