This role focuses on understanding switching requirements based on applications and relevant standards, analyzing mechanical and dielectric aspects of Vacuum Interrupter design, and evaluating environmental interactions. It also involves conducting systematic failure analysis and driving innovation in vacuum interrupter technology for applications such as VCBs and tap changers.
Responsibilities
- Apply electrical knowledge to interpret switching requirements based on applications and relevant standards.
- Understand the mechanical setup of Vacuum Interrupter design, particularly interfaces with applications like VCBs and tap changers.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of dielectric properties in Vacuum Interrupter design.
- Analyze plasma physics related to Vacuum Interrupter switching performance.
- Assess potential environmental interactions affecting Vacuum Interrupter performance.
- Conduct thorough and systematic root cause failure analysis based on test results and field issues.
- Lead innovative solutions and approaches in Vacuum Interrupter development.
Requirements
- PhD with at least 8 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree with 12 or more years of experience (if no PhD held).
