This temporary position, lasting two years with possible extension, connects daily veterinary care with the company’s scientific goals. The role ensures high-quality research outcomes while strictly maintaining animal welfare standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage medical cases and provide oversight for rodents and rabbits, including documentation and on-call duties.
- Advise staff and uphold best practices within the Animal Care and Use Program.
- Collaborate with external labs and internal teams to monitor colony health.
- Oversee the veterinary pharmacy, ensuring proper handling and records for controlled and non-prescription drugs.
- Process orders for medications, supplies, and consumables.
- Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting and maintaining veterinary medical equipment.
- Perform administrative tasks such as creating purchase orders, verifying invoices, and updating standard operating procedures.
- Work with internal and external partners to support facility operations and animal welfare.
Requirements
- A completed university degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM, med. vet., or equivalent).
- Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- At least two years of postgraduate experience in in vivo research, laboratory animal science, or related clinical fields.
- Proficiency or communicative ability in German.
